Electrolux Professional and why yards specify it
Electrolux Professional is a group of Swedish origin that makes professional food service, beverage and laundry equipment. It has been separately listed since 2020, and its equipment is found in restaurants, hotels, hospitals and institutional kitchens around the world.
For a yacht, the main appeal is breadth. One family of equipment can cover cooking, warewashing, cold storage and laundry. When the galley and laundry are planned together, as they usually are in a new build or a major refit, a consistent range keeps things simpler. Crew learn one style of controls, spare parts lists stay shorter, and service planning covers fewer suppliers.
Matching the range to spaces on board
SkyLine combi ovens at the centre of the galley
SkyLine combi ovens, which combine convection heat and steam in one cabinet, often sit at the centre of a professional yacht galley. They can roast, steam, bake and regenerate, which reduces the number of separate appliances a small galley has to hold. Around the oven, the chef will usually want refrigerated counters or cabinets for prep and service.
Undercounter or hood-type dishwashers
Galley dishwashing ranges from undercounter machines on smaller yachts to larger hood-type units where the crew count and guest numbers call for them. The right choice depends on the space, the rinse water arrangement and how many covers the galley serves at peak times. Think about the workflow too: where dirty trays land, where clean racks go to drain, and how glassware is kept apart from heavier pots.
Cold storage for the crew mess
Crew areas need reliable cold storage and a simple way to clean up after meals. For guest pantries and bars, compact marine refrigeration is often a better fit; our Vitrifrigo marine page covers drawer units and boat refrigerators designed for those spaces.
Washers, dryers and a flatwork ironer
The professional laundry range includes washers, dryers and ironers. On larger yachts, a flatwork ironer for bed linen and table linen can save the interior team a lot of time each week. Smaller laundries may suit a compact setup, which we compare on our Miele marine page.
Generator load, scale and steam in the galley and laundry
- Power and generator load. Combi ovens, dishwashers and dryers are among the largest electrical loads in the galley and laundry. We check the yacht's voltage, phase and frequency, 50 Hz or 60 Hz, and discuss load management with the engineer so the generators are not overloaded at mealtimes.
- Water treatment. Combi ovens and dishwashers are sensitive to scale. Water from a watermaker differs from water taken on in port, so treatment and filtration are chosen for the yacht rather than copied from a shore kitchen.
- Drainage. Oven drains, dishwasher drains and laundry outlets need suitable falls and connections to the grey water system. Hot discharge water must be routed to pipework that can take it.
- Ventilation and heat. Steam and heat from ovens and dishwashers need extraction, and they add to the air conditioning load. The extraction design is easier when the equipment is chosen early.
- Fixing for motion. Ovens on stands, dishwashers and stacked laundry machines must be secured to the structure. Racks, trays and trolleys need a safe stowage plan for passages.
- Access. Service panels, filters and water treatment cartridges should stay reachable after the joinery is finished.
Electrolux and other makers in one coordinated delivery
We are an independent supplier working from Wallingford, Connecticut, with a supply chain across Europe, Asia and the United States. For an Electrolux galley or laundry package we review the drawings and your brief, propose suitable equipment with clear options, and source the correct electrical versions and accessories.
Because yachts rarely use a single brand throughout, we often consolidate Electrolux items with equipment from other makers into one coordinated delivery. Shipments go to the shipyard, marina, agent or warehouse you choose. During installation we work with your yard or contractors on questions and commissioning, and after delivery we help with spare parts and replacements. If you are comparing combi ovens, our Rational marine page sets out the other common choice for yacht galleys.

Rough galley or laundry drawings are enough to start
Tell us about the yacht, the spaces involved and the timeline through the quote form. Galley or laundry drawings, even rough ones, help us propose the right equipment from the start.
